LIN YUXIN is a visual designer and installation artist, currently pursuing an MFA at the City University of Hong Kong. Her creative practice spans a variety of media, including installation, video, and performance, rather than adhering to a single material or form. Through these mediums, she explores the social issues arising from the tension between local culture and modernization, as well as the diverse psychological states of individuals navigating a changing environment. Often incorporating natural elements such as sand and stones, she seeks to evoke a simple, accessible artistic experience that resonates with viewers on an intuitive level.

A  Part  Of  Meories

    Art form: Interactive installation
Materials: stainless steel, Infrared Sensor Element

Abstract:

This installation records the primitive sounds of gravel, of hoeing, in the earth, earth, earth exhibition as part of the very first human feelings about the emotions of the land. When people pass by the installation, these sounds will be emitted from the cylinders, awakening the memories of the earth in the viewer's memory.

City  in  Bodies

    Art form: Photography and Projection
    Materials: canvas poster, projector

Abstract:

When I tried to walk barefoot on the ground, a strange feeling accompanied by pain irritated my skin and forced me to walk cautiously. Memories seemed to be activated, and the past and present seemed to be running through my eyes like a revolving lantern.

Embodied Internal  View

    Art form: sculpture
    Materials: mirros,dirt,wire

Abstract:

Dirt was collected from the vicinity of the exhibit area, and a closer look reveals twigs and leaves mixed in. The wire is artificially placed in the soil to give the work a sharp feeling, and the mirror in the center guides the viewer to look downward to express the feeling that it is difficult to step on the soil with bare feet after living in the city for a long time.

Unremovable Socks

    Art form: Photography
    Technology: 3D scan & AR

Abstract:

We are the generation born in the millennium, and in this era of accelerating modernization, many things from the past are being eliminated along with modernization, such as theatre, dialects, the countryside, and so on, as cities continue to expand. In the short span of 20 years, I can exactly feel the distance between me and the land widening, and even when I think of "land", a sticky feeling comes to my mind. The feeling is like learning to wear socks when I wanted to walk barefoot. Maybe the thing associated with the city is the socks that won't come off.

Sio2

    Art form: Interative installation
    Materials: glass, sand

Abstract:

Efficient life and work often make people hallucinate, forget that they are part of nature, and have little time to observe the essence of themselves, sand and glass although they have a completely different appearance, but in fact have the same component element "silica". The vibrating sand symbolizes the natural things ignored by people in daily life, as well as the self-awareness covered by high-pressure life and nihilism, which exists at our feet but rarely attracts our attention, and leads people to rethink the potential commonality between nature and self through the combination of glass towers and sand stones.
